This Diwali, Alone?

"Get Up U are late for office"

Stupid smart phone always behave like my Mom!!!! Just kidding ....

Getting ready for office is always been tough task for me but today feel like shouting, crying . First Diwali and I am not at home. I don't want to be alone. But I guess when you are in Bangalore you have to adopt this culture.

Being a single daughter I know how my parents are going to miss me. No one is there at my home to put Rangoli. Do boys know how to? :P My brothers are not that intelligent and smart.

Thinking may be on this Diwali I will be alone . Today's night will be the saddest night of my life.
After wearing my funky shoes I opened my door . Big surprise !!!my friends came from Hyderabad for Diwali. I was like woahhhhhh!!!!!!!

Well every body know whats going to happen next. I got a beautiful dress ;) for Diwali. I will buy colours to put Rangoli in front of my new flat. May be my friends have crackers too. They are like Supermen and Superwomen for me tonight.

I don't want to mention whether they r Hindu, Muslims, Christian or Parsi or XYZ but I know every one is excited to celebrate with candles and sweets too because all are so bhukkad for sweets.

Well its a short blog just to share my feeling . May be today I am not gonna miss my family that much. Its ok to celebrate Diwali with your friends :).

So enjoy with your friends and family. Have a Happy and safe Diwali to you.

P.S - Iggy if u are reading this you are invited to celebrate this Diwali with me Just don't look too good because I want to be star of night and I need a new fb profile pic today. :P

What its like being a girl in India

"No you are not going for this trip"
(Why? Just because I am a girl?)

"What boys are also coming?, girls and boys should not go together"
(To boys hi to h kha jayenge kya? And why boys girls should not be together?)

"I have trusted you a lot , itna padhaya , job karaya , itni freedom di and now you want to have parties like this."
(Means mujhe khud k freedom k liye ab ladhna padega, Am I allowed to take breath? Isme be constraints h to please bata dena)

"Sharma ji ki ladki ko dekha h , agar unke jaise hum tumhe rakhte to better hota "
(Oh right I forgot Dreams dekhna strictly mana h)

"Bahut time h ghumne k liye , apne hone wale husband k sath ghumna "
(Seriously? Thats it , I m just a responsibility jo jaldi se finish karni h. Right and I guess am not allowed to choose my husband.)

"Pata log kya bolenge ?"
(Kya kare logo ko itni bolne ki habit h)

"Ye sab Ladko pe acha lagta h "
(Kyu hum karenge to kya ho jayega? World will come to end kya?)

This happened when I asked to my parents to have a over night trip for my college reunion.
After working so hard and being an independent girl , like so many girls, I have to face all the irrelevant questions whenever I ask my parents to do something new.

I want to say lots of things to this Indian society but how? I have no idea. If I try to convince them they will start blaming me and my education.

Lets start with "Log"

"Aunty, Yeah I am 23 and I am working whats wrong in that? And there are lots of guys who will accept me. And for sure I will get married. Kudos to your thinking"

"Uncle, I hit your son , and I will do this again if he ever try to say 'Mast maal h be' to any girl "

"Dad, I love you a lot. Yes I have dreams and I will fight for it because I have learned this from you.
I wont quit this time "

"Mom, Don;t worry I know you have trusted me , and I m not breaking your trust, To have fun doesn't mean I m betraying you "

"Grand Ma, I have to start living after my marriage. Right? Before that I have to just breath"

"Bhai, Don't worry I am not hitting every guy . Hope you are familiar with the word 'Friend' "

"Grand Pa, Sorry for your friends what they are going to think about me, I really don;t care "

All these things are just in my head I cant argue with them. Because Indian society and families are never wrong. They are always right. But

" Dear Society,
The only mistake we(girls) do is to live our life the way we want. And yes we are fighter , we love challenges and we will do this till end."

Every Min Journey. Run Psycho!!!!!

Semester was over, I was ready to go back to my home town. Well best vacation is with my mother's food and only food. The best thing till now in my engineering is when Dad gifted me with this Laptop because he thinks I am going to become software engg.

Lolz but my dreams are different. I realized this after taking admission to IIIT Allahabad. Anyways
My journey is always boring being a South Indian. It always take more than 2 days to reach my Mum's Kitchen.

But something interesting happened when I was about to reach Nagpur Station. A Lady of my Mum's age was struggling with TC.

"Sir, I lost my purse Please give me some time I will arrange something "

"Aisa nah chalta yaha, Bahut dekhe h tumhare jaise "

"Sir, Talk to my son , Ap ek bar bat kar lijiye I will pay for sure"

"Dekho Madam, Dimag ka dahi mat karo, Next station Nagpur utar jana "

I was constantly gazing that lady , how helpless she was!!!

"Madam, Nagpur aa gaya chalo utro, ticket leke aao agar is train me baithna h to , You have only 7 minutes"

Well,  I sat quietly but I desperately wanted to help her .
 My mind replied

"In 7 minutes you wont be able to reach there, Dumb a** you don't know where the counter is? "

I got up and ran, I was running so hard Like I have to catch my girlfriend for last time.  Scene was totally like Hindi romantic movies which ends in airport or railway station. But that time my girlfriend was my laptop.

Finally I reached to the counter, how , I have no idea. There was a queue. 3 people where standing in front of me.
" I m doomed my laptop, my cellphone, my bag what I did."

"Move fast people "

"Why this ticket agent is slow?"
"Holy Crap!! these guys should carry the change"

I was loosing my count on time. Dad will kill me, Mum will scold me. And That lady :/ for sure I m going to meet her in the same platform. I was just and just thinking about my laptop.

Finally I bought a ticket. Next thought was Run!!!! Just Run.... Psycho , you freak. Train started I was still on bridge ..... Oh God!!! My heart was beating with only one sound Run !!!! Run for your laptop. Finally I made it I was in .. Lying down in gate ... That because there were two extra bogies this time. How Lucky I was.

"I should be in Marathon ."
Anyways that was not my bogie,  I started searching for that lady.  Finally I found her . What a bold lady , Still struggling instead of crying.

"Sir, I got her ticket"

"Show me..........................hmm"

"Thank you Beta, Will give you money back when I reach to my destination"

"No need, Ma'am"

I talked to that lady till she got her destination. I refused to take money as it was so embarrassing for me and Dad will kill me if he knew that I took money from his son.

I sat down and just wanted to kiss my laptop, it was still there. I know what I did is not to be proud of but Worth sharing.

If I m gonna share this to my friends they will be like

"Dhakkan h tu, kuch ho jata to"

"Be sale ***** apna b soch liya kar"

"Tera lappy jata na tera baap ulta latka ke marta teko"

"Kutte!!! Krish h kya tu? "

"Saala khud ko Rajnikant samajta h?"

" Humare liye to itna pyar na aaya doosro ki help karne chala h.. Haramkhor, "

Well friends are like this only :P

A letter to brother

Hey Kiddo!!!

When you read this the obvious thought going to dwell in your mind will be -
" Di ko kya ho gaya (What happen to her?) " But still you will open and going to read this no matter how big is this :P not because its an order.

I am not sure what you are feeling after Dad's decision may be you are excited or afraid but trust me that's the right decision and you will realize after. We have a huge age difference that's why our relation has a bit of dignity and I know you respect me , you admire me. :) I don't want you think "Di Lecture mar rahi kya? "

I got to know that from this year you will be completing your education from one of the finest boarding school. Can't help it you have to as you know we all have been there.
I just want to share some of my experience may be it will help you. Trust me they are not boring.

I know you were not paying attention when Dad was discussing about his expectations and Mum about Do's and Don'ts. As I told you we have been there :P. But you are entering to your new independent life which you have to start alone.

You are going to miss your hometown friends that's for sure not because of  Love but the fun you had with them. Obviously there wont be bikes to roam around girls (I know you have done that and don't smile), . But you are going to get life's best experience. You are going to make new friends irrespective from where they belong. Enjoy with them because at last memories will keep you alive.
Don't ever be shy to do something new just be careful that your blunders does not reach to Dad's ear.
They wont say anything to you but Dad will get hurt and Mum will be emotional.

I am not saying to stay away from girls at least you can try not to hurt them and if I caught you I will kick you. Time will come when you are going to butter Mum to ask Dad to increase your pocket money trust me that not going to happen instead you will be given half of your pocket money that month and that's for your own sake so that you can keep an eye on your expenditure and one more thing don't try to earn money outside you won't be able to make it instead try to concentrate in your studies that month after that I am sure Dad will increase your pocket money.

Keep some of your savings because that will help you in paying your fines when you and your friends will be responsible for broken furniture in school. Sneaking out from some of your lectures will give you best memories just make sure it won't effect you in a negative way.

You will have new dreams may be quite different from Dad's but try to share with him he will understand. No matter how big your dreams are never loose hope. Keep your friends closer always.

I don't know what you are thinking after reading this. But at the end I just want to say. No need to slip out your cellphones from Mum's bag otherwise I will tell to Dad :P

Take care Kiddo!!! You are going to have a great fun.

Regards
Your Sister

Eid , For every one!!!!!

"I want to celebrate Eid. I don't want to work today :(  "

I pushed my feeling to the Whisper app to know about the views of the people when I was getting ready for my office. Less traffic as lots of people where celebrating Eid with Kheer, Haleem, Fresh Fruits and some of the best dishes which I have never tasted.

On my way to office Facebook is the best time pass, If some one pings you then its better to utilize your time. :P

I updated my status to "Happy Eid". Hoping to express my feelings.
Suddenly I got a message

"Muslim h kya be?" (Are you Muslim?)

"Kyun? Eid celebrate karne k liye Muslim hona padhta h kya?"(Why,  Is it necessary to be Muslim to celebrate Eid?)

A message made me so curious to know what kind of person is he and what he thinks.

I pinged him again
"My boy friend is Muslim"

"What!! Oh girl How come?"
Obviously, Its disappointing to know about the girl you are hitting from last 7 days.
But I was disappointed to know that he has a problem not with a guy but a Muslim Guy.

I got a message after an hour

"Hey!!! Is this your man? http://www.facebook.com/profile?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh that's my good friend but why he is searching my profile and getting the list of all the Muslim friends. Pathetic. Randomly I replied "Yes"

"Girl, How can you like some one like this. "

"Hum mar gaye the kya?"(Wasn't I available)

"Whats the problem in that, he is sophisticated,  passionate, handsome, so respectful and descent guy." I was getting irritated. He is my good friend how people can judge others just by there Religion, Caste.

"I also have all qualities. Anyways but he is Muslim"

"Man, Let me teach you the life best lessons you will ever learn. I know your brain does not have that kind of cells to understand this but still let me try.
He is a Muslim and he is my friend . I have lots of friend who are Muslim. Go and get a friends like me
you will realize .

They will teach you how every person is different. They will invite you in there festivals and when you go to there place you will feel how happy they are, how loving and caring your friend's mothers are. They will give you the best party with awesome meals, you will learn to celebrate one of the best festival with Kheer.

You will learn how they are raised by Queens (Mother). They will teach you to treat every girl, women in this world with respect. Your friend's parents, siblings will teach you how they heartily welcome other guests and if you are smart enough you will notice ' Tahzeeb ' when they talk. I know you won't be able to make it but at least you will learn how to talk to your elders. They will teach you how to make peace with the others, how to be different and how to be proud who ever you are .

And Please try to watch the Indian cricket matches with them you will realize you are nothing in front of them when it comes to cheering up Indian players. And how to make peace at the end of India and Pakistan match when you guys will pass comments and show your levels of Casteism/Racism. Well they don't care much obviously they know your level.

And yeah try to invite them to celebrate ' Holi ' , ' Diwali ' you will learn how they enjoy these festivals and how to keep promises of ' Raksha Bandhan '. They will teach you how smart they are , and generous too. Still they will love you the way you are.

And after learning to all of these at the end learn how they keep their daughters as princesses. Idiot. "

"Ok I m sorry I should not speak anything about your friends"

Some people are not meant to learn "Yes. You should not offend any person. Just not my friends. Not a single person through your cheap levels of casteism/racism. "

"Why you are getting angry. Itni si bat me? (Its a small thing) I was kidding. But you are different girl and your choices are different. Try to be normal"

My patience got over " Listen Dude, Get lost"

Next step was to unfriend that person as soon as possible

After leaving early from my office Me and my parents went to celebrate Eid with one of my Dad's best friend.

"Assalamwalekum Uncle. Uncle Hope this time I did right.? :P"

Aunt replied "Yup you always do correct girl. I have made special Kabab and Sheer Khurma for you"

"Thank you. I was waiting for this day to enjoy your specials.  "

"NO need to wait Girl, You can Come any time you want. :)"

Eid Mubarak!!! to Every one :)

Two Shots of Tequila

Waking up early in the morning , hot cup of coffee , a view from my terrace , Bangalore Monsoon's and  a thought of my new crush. I was rolling into the last conversation what I had with my friend.
"D'not be fattu? Dare rakh or bol they. "

 "Dar lagta h bey"

"Sun do pack laga daal, bol daalne ka"  - I just love this Maharashtriyan style.

"Pack? What is a need of it?  Kuch bhi"

What's the right time to tell some one about the way you feel? But for me this is the best time to think about my new feeling, new attraction and the smile. Zindagi me cheeze agar itni asaan ho jati to life bht easy ho jati.
I want to be with that person why I am so attracted to him. So I called him in the morning 7 am.

"hey, Hi itni morning me ? Sab theek to h?"

"Mujhe kuch bolna h :/"

"Ha bol"

"AAAAAAAA"
"do pack lagake bolti"

I What? Oh **** what I did.
Evening night with my friend and pub means aj me peene wali hu.
"Two Tequila"

"Oye!! Pahli bar h aj thoda raham"

"Chup baith"

I was out of this world. Oh God I went to the restroom. Called him again.

"I want to say something to you"

"bol na"

"I admire you , dont know why but I like to think about you, I want to know you
I love the way you live your life, I love the way you smile, I still remember how dashing you are
I just want to be with you pata nah kitne din and I like the way we talk. And I am still thinking about you"

"Hmm, Ma'am ap kaha h or kitni pee hai"

"100 Avenue night club, Bangalore "

"Wait there, I am coming from now onwards you dont have to think about me any more  "

May be its always best to express your feeling. Some life's best stories start with two packs ;)

Rest is history.
